International Dyslexia Association - IDA www.interdys.org - The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, scientific, and educational organization dedicated to the study and treatment of the learning disability, dyslexia. IDA is the oldest such organization in the U.S. that serves individuals with dyslexia, their families, and professionals in the field.

LD Online www.ldonline.org - LD OnLine seeks to help children and adults reach their full potential by providing accurate and up-to-date information and advice about learning disabilities and ADHD. The site features hundreds of helpful articles, monthly columns by noted experts, first person essays, children’s writing and artwork, a comprehensive resource guide, very active forums, and a Yellow Pages referral directory of professionals, schools, and products.

Learning Disability Association of Texas www.ldat.org - The Learning Disabilities Association of Texas (LDAT) is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to advancing the education and general welfare of persons with learning disabilities.

Legal Framework for the Child-Centered Educational Process http://framework.esc18.net/ - The Legal Framework for the Child-Centered Process is a template in an electronic format that summarizes state and federal requirements for special education by topic. It is a Texas Education Agency project under the state leadership of Region 18 Education Service Center.

National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) www.ncld.org - The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) works to ensure that the nation's 15 million children, adolescents and adults with learning disabilities have every opportunity to succeed in school, work and life. NCLD provides essential information to parents, professionals and individuals with learning disabilities, promotes research and programs to foster effective learning and advocates for policies to protect and strengthen educational rights and opportunities.

National Coalition on Auditory Processing Disorders www.ncapd.org - The mission of the National Coalition on Auditory Processing Disorders, Inc. is to assist families and individuals affected by auditory processing disorders through education, support, and public awareness as well as promoting auditory access of information for those affected by auditory processing disorders.

Reading Rockets www.readingrockets.org - This is a Web site by Reading Rockets that helps parents and teachers determine the specific problem a child may be experiencing with reading. The Web site describes aspects of reading such as phonological awareness and fluency and gives examples of how each area affects a child's reading. The tool gives suggestions of ways to help and resources for more information.

SchwabLearning www.schwablearning.org - The vision at Schwab Learning is to help kids with learning differences be successful in learning and life by providing LD information and resources to parents.

Access Center www.k8accesscenter.org - The Access Center has developed strategies charts that provide research-based methods of increasing students' access to the general education curriculum. The chart outlines practices such as differentiated instruction, mnemonics, and peer assisted learning and how they can be incorporated into various academic subjects.

Advocacy Institute http://www.advocacyinstitute.org/ - The Advocacy Institute is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to the development of products, projects and services that work to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Disability Info.gov www.disabilityinfo.gov - This is a comprehensive online resource that provides access to disability-related information and programs available across the government on numerous subjects, including civil rights, community life, education, employment, housing, health, income support, technology and transportation.

EROD - Education Resource Organizations Directory http://wdcrobcolp01.ed.gov/Programs/EROD/ - The U.S. Department of Education's EROD is for parents, students, teachers and others looking for the ultimate directory of education resource organizations. It currently contains contact nd descriptive information about more than 2,950 national, regional, and state organizations.

Exceptional Parent www.eparent.com - Continuing 35 award-winning years of providing information, support, ideas, encouragement and outreach for parents and families of children with disabilities, and the professionals who work with them.

Families and Advocates Partnership for Education - FAPE www.fape.org - FAPE project is a partnership that aims to improve the educational outcomes for children with disabilities. It links families, advocates, and self-advocates to information about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The project is designed to address the information needs of the 6 million families throughout the Country whose children with disabilities receive special education services.

Federation for Children with Special Needs www.fcsn.org - The Federation for Children with Special Needs provides information, support, and assistance to parents of children with disabilities, their professional partners, and their communities.

George Washington University HEATH Resource Center www.heath.gwu.edu/ - A National Clearinghouse on Post secondary Education for Individuals with Disabilities.

IDEA 2004 http://idea.ed.gov/ - This new U. S. Department of Education web site was created to provide a one-stop shop for resources related to IDEA and its implementing regulations. The site provides searchable versions of the statute and regulations, as well as, access to cross-referenced content from other laws, such as the No Child Left Behind Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
